Louisa Gilbert

Dr. Louisa Gilbert is an Associate Professor at Columbia University School of Social Work and has served as the Co-Director of the Social Intervention Group (SIG) since 1999. For the past 25 years her research has focused on developing, implementing and testing multi-level interventions that address the syndemic mechanisms linking substance misuse, gender-based violence (GBV), trauma and HIV/AIDS in the U.S., Central Asia, and India. This research has advanced evidence-based interventions to prevent GBV and HIV among women who use drugs. She has co-authored over 150.
