Alissa Davis

Dr. Alissa Davis is an epidemiologist and Assistant Professor at Columbia University School of Social Work. Her research interests are on novel research methods and technologies that can lead to the development of more effective and scalable interventions, particularly substance use and HIV/STI interventions among marginalized populations. She is particularly interested in the multiphase optimization strategy (MOST) -- a framework, originally developed for engineering applications, that builds interventions that are effective, efficacious, economical, and immediately scalable, and the use of intensive longitudinal data collected through new technologies to measure variability and fluctuations in substance use and key factors associated with substance use.
