Muredach Patrick Reilly

Dr Reilly is a cardiovascular physician-scientist who is internationally known for multidisciplinary translational, genomic, and biomarker research on heart and metabolic diseases. His research program is dedicated to clinical and translational genomic studies in complex diseases ranging from based mechanistic studies to patient-oriented research and large scale epidemiological and biobanking studies. Since 2016 he has served as director of the Irving Institute, the NIH funded CTSA at Columbia University. The Irving Institute trains and supports clinical and translational researchers across CU through a number or resources and cores with the goal of accelerating research across the translational spectrum. In this capacity he has led efforts to mobilize stakeholders across the university and local community to address the opioid epidemic. Irving Institute resources of particular relevance to CHOSIN include resource centers on biomarkers, data science and informatics, biostatistics and research design, clinical research methods, pilot research funding, and a community engagement core. Dr Reilly will ensure that the resources of the Irving Center are brought to bear to support research collaborations and initiatives developed as part of CHOSIN
